Description of Associated Architecture

• The original log portion of Piney Grove was built In 1800 and today survives as a rare example of Early Tidewater Log Architecture. The grounds also include Ladysmith (built in 1857), Ashland (built In 1835), The Quarter (built in 1860) and Duck Church (built in 1900), as well as gardens and plantation outbuildings.
